The idea
The competition is open to all young people 19 and under who are currently in full time education or training and live in the Wyre Forest area which includes Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley as well as the surrounding rural areas. There are prizes for the best solo performer, best duo, best group (2 or more performers) and the best original composition.
The competition is open to musicians from all genres, so whether you are a classical cellist or a beatboxer - if you're good you can win!
What we'll deliver
- We will be providing the equipment for any musician or band to just turn up, plug in and play.
- You'll have to bring your own instruments unless you are a drummer or pianist.
Why it's a great idea
This is a great opportunity for young musicians to gain exposure and the experience of playing live in front of an audience.
The young people will benefit from working with professional sound engineers and receiving constructive feedback from the panel of judges, all of whom are connected to the music industry.
Steps to get it done
- The competition will be in Bewdley at the newly refurbished St George's Hall
- Advertising for the competition will start in June
- Entry forms will be available from Schools, Colleges and Private Music Teachers
