The idea
We are looking to run 5-a-side football sessions that are open to men and women aged 18 and over. These sessions will be fully inclusive, welcoming individuals of all abilities, fitness levels, backgrounds, and ages.
Our aim is to support and improve mental health and wellbeing, alongside promoting physical health through the game of football. We want to create a safe, supportive environment where like minded people can come together, connect, and feel part of a positive community.
These sessions are open to everyone, regardless of background or social circumstance. We hope to offer people a valuable hour away from the pressures of daily life. Whether that’s work, family responsibilities, or other challenges.
We are also committed to tackling isolation, whether it stems from anxiety, feeling different, or simply being new to an area. Above all, our goal is to build a welcoming community where everyone feels included and valued.
What we'll deliver
- Happier more vibrant community
- a Healthier way of thinking with regards to Mental and Physical health
- positive life changing experiences for people who need it the most
Why it's a great idea
This project will deliver a wide range of benefits to the wider community. Regular physical activity is well known for improving both physical fitness and mental wellbeing, and these sessions provide a consistent opportunity for people to stay active in a structured yet welcoming environment.
They are particularly beneficial for individuals who may feel isolated, including older adults or those experiencing social anxiety, by offering a safe and supportive space to connect with others who share similar interests. By fostering a strong sense of community and belonging, the project helps to reduce isolation, build meaningful friendships, and boost confidence.
We have delivered similar sessions in the past and have seen first-hand how popular and effective they are, demonstrated by the high levels of interest and positive feedback we receive. Our Google reviews further highlight the meaningful impact these sessions have had on the wider community.
