The idea
We would like to build a garden next to our art studio, that enables us to do art activities outdoors, on two round shaped picnic benches, that could accommodate up to 8 clients. We would also like to create a sensory garden, in raised flowerbeds and planters. This garden would give the opportunity for our clients to do some gardening, which is a very soothing activity, and many of them would enjoy doing. In the back of the garden we are planning to install a swing chair, that would give a space for our learning disabled clients to be separated from their peers and calm themselves. The project includes the upgrade of the currently existing lawn. We have already raised £5000 for the hard paving of the areas for the outdoor furniture.

Why it's a great idea
We will create a garden that our learning disabled clients can take advantage of. We can work outside on special art projects that are not suitable inside of the studio. We will have more space, and therefore the clients will be able to enjoy more personal space, which is especially important for our autistic clients. By installing the swing chair we will be able to offer another opportunity, another space for our clients to sooth themselves when they feel anxious, or dealing with mental health issues.
We will be able to offer a higher level service to our clients. We will use a space that is currently not in use and create a valuable green area that will raise the profile of our property.
