Macclesfield Community Artspace is nearing it's 10 year anniversary!
Artspace was set up to creat a space for people in the local community to come and create art!
It is on the second floor of an old mill on Heapy Street, near the town centre and is divided into several rooms each providing resources to help people to develop many different skills. There is a sewing room, a craft room a wodwork room and a messy room based alond a large all purposecreating space.
Artspace is use by individuals who come to paint and create, some of whom are supported by their wonderful carers to access and enjoy the space.
It is also used by community groups who come together to use the space to work towards their own exhibitions or make props for events and parades with the support of our wonderful team of dedicated volunteers.
Artspace links in with a network of volunteers who help to keep the doors open for others to enjoy. It's Drop in hours are currently
Monday 7-9pm
Tuesday 10.30-7.30
Wednesday 10.30-4.30
Friday 10.30-4.30
It also hosts familiy sessions every Saturday 1-3pm
Artspace asks for a donation of £4 for a drop in session to help to pay the rent.
Artspace also links in with many talented local artists who run paid workshops such a learn to sew, Papier mache modelling, Life Drawing and much more....
To celebrate our 10 years we are hoping to fund lots of free workshops to be delivered in the New Year so that the whole commjunity can access the space and learn new skills and have fun!
