The idea
Objectives of the project:
To create a ceramic mouse to raise awareness of mental health issues.
To sell a ceramic mouse to raise funds for three local mental health groups (Strength in Struggles Art4All and The Picu Unit, Chorley Hospital).
To give students the opportunity to talk freely about mental health as a group.
To learn how to make a ceramic mouse using a pinch pot method with clay.
Each student to make at least three mice. One to donate for the fund raising event, one to raise funds for Art4All and one to keep.
Mice will all be biscuit fired and then students will glaze the mice using a choice of glazes which will then be fired for a second time.
To exhibit and sell the mice at our annual exhibition.
