The idea
The Indoor School is approximately 6 metres wide and 30 metres long and has one practice cricket lane in it. It is made of brick and a corrugated roof and is over 80 years old.
In 2019 we raised funds from various events and invested £7,000 in repairing the Indoor School Building with new lights and a new insulated roof. We had a team of volunteers who then spent 6 weekends cleaning tidying and painting the indoor walls floors and roof to make the facility useable.Despite this wonderful work we have a 15 year old bowling machine,10 year old safety netting and 10 year old artificial matting.We therefore need two new bowling machines new artificial matting and underlay and new surround safety netting.We have been in direct contact with junior schools in Southport - St Philips,Our Lady of Lourdes and Farnborough Rd,Christ the King,Birkdale High School, and Scarisbrick Hall School and local cricket clubs who will all participate in using the facility along with local cricket clubs.

Why it's a great idea
We are based in Southport as part of the Sefton Borough and it is our primary goal to make the indoor school the heart of our coaching and development programme for our community.A key strategic goal is to grow the membership and making the facility available available to all the nearby clubs and schools as well as our own members to achieve that goal.As Chairman the family strategy is key for a sustainable future of the club and having an open facility for everyone will help deliver that.
We have Junior Cricket from Under 9’s through to Under 18’s a Ladies Team and three Senior Mens teams that play cricket from April to September.We need an indoor facility so that we can practice all year round.We have placed the family and the community at the heart of our strategy and development plan so getting this kit is really crucial to our proposition.We think exercise is good physically for all ages but we also believe that it is good for emotional and mental well being.

The club is governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and has been accredited with the ECB Clubmark thereby ensuring all appropriate measures are in place to run a safe and secure environment.The club also raises funds for local charities such as Opening Up and Queenscourt Hospice.
Will give the club the ability to reach out into the community and engage with schools and clubs to attract players from all ages and background and to have an enjoyable experience learning and developing the skills required to play the game of cricket.
This will be an all year round facility with maximum useage expected.
