Building on the comprehensive and free ensemble provision that is currently run on weekday evenings, Hull Music Service - Lead Partner for Hull Music Hub, would now like to create a different and inclusive offer for Saturdays. "Albemarle Saturdays" in 2017 saw series of highly popular one off outreach events. We would like to now deliver this on a more regular basis. Albemarle Saturdays will be our "Gateway" to music education, meaning that it is open to those who currently so not play or sing, as well as those who do. Albemarle Saturdays will create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for families, so that those who are new to music feel comfortable and confident to engage and participate: Generations Orchestra – open family/community music ensemble Noise Academy Hull - technology& urban music Band Camp - for new bands to be formed and for existing one to meet Residencies for local, region and national partners

What we'll deliver:

  • Enable Albmarle Saturdays to be free, open access for all

Why it's a great idea:

We want the Albemarle to become a musical home for more children and young people for a much broader range music making opportunities. Building on the legacy of city of Culture, free, open access opportunities will enable the Albemarle to become an inspirational, musical, safe space for musical exploration and discovery

Steps to get it done:

  • Create a calendar of dates for the year
  • Book workshop leaders and practitioners
  • Engage young people to co-create content and structure
