More about our impact
The environment
We have installed a new boiler in the building and new air-conditioning in the second screen.
The local economy
Our cinema and café is already benefiting the community and the local businesses by increasing footfall. We are now attracting visitors from further afield - Shepherds Bush and Ealing. in the opening weekend of screen 2 the box office and cafe took £6000.00
Volunteering, jobs & education
We now have 8 staff on PAYE and 2 free-lancers operating our 2 screen cinema and cafe. The staff would not manage without the vital help of our volunteers who help check all tickets and show our customers to their seats, in addition to tidying up in between screenings.
Arts, culture & heritage
We are in negotiation with Ealing Art BEAT about providing a venue for next September. Building on our successful collaboration with Chiswick Literary Festival, we are planning to welcome more of their events this year, and we will be celebrating the bi-sentinial of Passmore Edwards with the Acton History Group. The second screen will allow more scope for community events.
Activity, health and leisure
Our project will community activity by bringing people together to use the cafe, read our books, use the wifi, buy a coffee or a smack and watch a film.
