The environment
This project has contributed to us saving 1800 bikes from recycling centres across Lancashire, Bikes recycled and back out to community through the hub – 484 bikes Bikes donated to groups/schools/community – 200 Bikes saved from landfill - 1800 42,120kg co2e saving
Volunteering, jobs & education
We have linked into local employment support schemes offer olunteering for those looking for work and providing them with a bike as part of the volunteer offer. We have a number of recently released prisoner who have linked into to the project as volunteers helping them embed back into the local community. We have increased our volunteer pool by 10 people who regularly support the project and are now accessing relevant funded training courses.
Arts, culture & heritage
We have provided some bike parts to arts projects both in Blackburn and Burnley.
