Our project idea is to transform a Ford Transit van into a mobile multi-use creative space to enable the most hard to reach young people to access local services where they live.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
Access All Areas Creative Space will be base in Croydon, but will also be available London-wide to be use by young people and youth organisations. The van will be professionally wrapped with vinyl graphics and fitted with 4 solar panels on the roof connected to a portable rechargeable generator to provide the van’s electricity. The van interior will be fitted out with ply wood lining and removable desk space for 4 computers, and a removable recording studio acoustic panelling to allow for extra space if needed for video production or training. The van will be available to hire free of charge to young people aged 11 – 25 years old and local organisations who work with young people, Monday to Sunday 10am to 10pm.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Our project is completely mobile and flexible enabling us to fully engage with young people wherever they are, in a creative way. This will help reduce the impact of the increasing lack of access to local services where they live and prevent any issues that may occur when young people are travelling long distances outside of their area to access services. This will also in turn have a wider benefit for their community, helping to reduce the number of young people who are economically disadvantaged by becoming employed, self-employed or up skill to increase their salary above the living wage. Using creative services, we will help young people become more responsible for themselves and their economic/educational situation and become less engaged with antisocial behaviour and gang activities. Also becoming more respectful of their now like-minded peers, local residents and businesses helping towards a more cohesive community.
