Abigail's Footsteps in Medway, will be working in partnership with Cherished Gowns UK in Dover, to mass produce over 100 cot liners for 10 Kent hospitals, for use in the Abi Cooling Cots.
Abigail's Footsteps provides Abi cooling cots, and for a long time bereavement teams have requested cot liners for these vital units, we are proud to announce we will be working in partnership with Cherished Gowns UK based in Dover on this project, to provide Kent hospitals with cot liners for our Abi Cots in bereavement suites, throughout the county. We will work together, with the help of their 100+ seamstress volunteers to provide cot liners to Kent hospitals, as phase one in this national project. We are delighted to be collaborating with another Kent based charity, it's a really valuable way to improve our efficiency levels, enhance our services and ultimately make a greater difference to the lives of bereaved families in our community. An Abi cooling cot is a refrigerated unit that allows parents to spend more time with their deceased baby than would otherwise be possible. The cot helps parents to bond with their baby and aids the grieving process.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Abi cooling cots are vital pieces of equipment for a bereavement suite. “The Abi Cooling Cot looks beautiful and is very easy to use for maternity staff, and it is very easy to move around the room. It has become a vital piece of equipment for our unit and we are so grateful to be able to offer parents precious time and space to be with their babies.” Lead Bereavement Midwife. “We had some very precious days with our daughter that we wouldn’t have had without an Abi Cooling Cot. We had the privilege of using one, before then we hadn’t heard of them but now to us they are such valuable pieces of equipment that the hospital needs.” Bereaved Mum
