To create a wildlife pond in The Paddock on Ferry Lane N17.
After years of neglect, we have re-started the Friends of the Paddock to clear it up and improve it for local people. We have - with help from Haringey Council and Veolia - removed many bags of refuse, and we have recycled some bags of bottles and cans. We now want to improve the site, by planting wildflowers, installing bird- and bat-boxes, and creating a pond. The other aspects have been funded. What we need now is funding for the butyl liner and underlay for the pond.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We have large reservoirs and running river channels in the area but no ponds for frogs, newts etc to breed.
Steps to get it done:
It will be a positive focus for people to get involved. Just picking litter gets a bit tedious!
