The Hygiene Bank Tamworth has been running since Nov 2019.
We are an independent project of the central charity, The Hygiene Bank, which works across the UK ( charity no 1181267 www.thehygienebank.com)
We collect toiletries via our donation boxes, sort them and redistribute them to our charity partners.
We work with 35 charity partners, all of whom are supporting people struggling with hygiene poverty. We pack the toiletries into individual/family bags according to thefamily size and give donations in bulk or both.
Most of our time and resources are allocated to working with the 26 nurseries and schools who are registered with us.They receive bulk donations, usually twice each term.
There are 37 schools in Tamworth but we have been unable to support the remaining 7 as yet.
We work directly with the " family support workers" who know their children and families really well and know those who are in need. They let us know if particulat items/stock is required.
We know our donations are needed and well received as we request feedback :
" These donations make such a difference to our families.Things like conditioner, new toothbrushes and deodorant are a luxury to some of our families" Primary school 2024
" greatly valued by this community and in current finanacial challenges allows careful increase in food purchases, prticularly for families with children and elderly residents" Charity partner 2023
"This delivery of goods has helped many of our families in need, especially those households who have one or both parents in employment due to the rise in the cost of living " Primary School 2024

The photos show delivery being received at a primary school, one of our volunteers loading up a delivery, the contents of a pack for a single female and the brand new premises which will be ours this week!
