The idea

Historically a neglected quarry near the NHS Medical Centre, this green space has transformed into a eco-educational haven through FOMD's unprecedented environmental cleanup in 2024. Removing 266 bin bags of litter and 25 tons of debris entangled in Ivy, FOMD tirelessly eliminated harmful pollutants threatening local wildlife. Backed by a substantial NHS social value grant, steps have been taken to introduce safe accessibility features for vulnerable residents, ensuring the space benefits the whole community. To date, three distinct nature zones of woodland interest have been interconnected by a secure pathway, and with your support we plan to construct the last 50 m path required to unite the fourth area. This project’s vision balances biodiversity restoration with community engagement, transforming the Dell into an inspiring haven for nature and people alike. Your support would enable us to complete this final step towards creating a fully integrated and restorative green refuge.
