The idea

We have been successful in a Football Foundation grant application for our project to deliver a state of the art 3G football pitch in Kent located at Bexley Park Sports & Social Club DA2. Before any of the work can begin, under the guidance of ECoW we must work with an environmental agency to install fencing and selectively clear vegetation to create diverse habitats with open areas for reptiles to bask in! Parkwood Rangers FC provides grassroots football for the local community and has 28 teams; boys and girls, male and female across all ability ranges. This vital step will allow work on the 3G pitch to commence.

What we'll deliver

  • Newt/Reptile exclusion fencing around reptile capture area and receptor site
  • clear vegetation to create diverse habitats, with open areas for reptiles to bask in
  • Create 1X Hibernacula and 3x Log piles using part rotted natural wood

Why it's a great idea

The 3G Pitch Project will transform the sports facilities available in Dartford - helping the local community and keep kids off the street, providing them with a safe space to play sport with qualified coaches. This site enhancement is vital to protect the wildlife habitat and ecosystem so they can exists safely alongside our own sporting community!

Steps to get it done

  • Run a successful crowdfunding campaign
  • Start the receptor site enhancement work
  • Have the site ready to start the 3G pitch work

This is a vital project for the local community and has government backing, FA backing, Local Authority backing and has already got planning permissions approved.
