Malvhina Mental Health & Wellbeing CIC is a community interest company that aims to provide a holistic approach to supporting those with mental ill health and their carers.
We offer a unique approach that blends experiential therapeutic activities with person centred techniques to promote healthy a lifestyle and wellbeing.
Our Wilderness therapeutic programmes are structured and progressive, using recognised and established therapeutic approaches, uniquely integrated with other disciplines. It is important to recognise this is not simply “activities we do to do in the woods” which might then implicitly benefit a person’s immediate sense of wellbeing in the very short term – This is explicitly a therapeutic small-group intervention, structured and run to best therapeutic practice, with defined outcomes and objectives for each participant, for a long-lasting impact.
In addition, we recognise the stigma still associated with mental ill-health, and the fear and loneliness that people who feel overwhelmed, anxious and/or depressed can face. We aim to break down these barriers by actively attending local settings such as festivals to promote openness regarding mental health and to talk to people about what it is like to live with a mental illness or support someone who has a mental health illness.
Finally, we aim to offer opportunities for 1:1 support at local music festivals and other events such as The Young Farmers Association Annual show and workshops to teach visitors strategies to nurture and protect their mental health and wellbeing.
