The scout hut was re-built following a fire in 1993 & is basic and looks tired. This project will allow us to revitalise it so young people can come & develop skills for life based on scout ethos
The scout hut requires a complete hut renovation to ensure our hut is welcoming to our growing group of new members and parents Disability We have a wheelchair user and we want to ensure our building is more disability compliant with ramps, rails and open doorways with our entrance, toilets and main hall fully disability friendly ensuring we are not alienating children or parents with disabilities from attending scout group. Insulation and energy efficiency Making the hut more energy efficient by installing roof/ ceiling insulation, more radiators LED Lights to reduce costs. Kitchen renovation Currently we do not have an effective cooking facilities which means we cannot offer a full program of food activities which goes against our skills for life for young people. Kitchen doubles as a servery for parents events Fully compliant to food hygiene requirements Welcome image Improved entrance with re paint & replacement windows
