By Walk it out
Walk it out group is aimed to empower young females and women in Redbridge to gain health and well-being, we do this by walking and talking across parks creating a safe and supportive environment.
Knowing that domestic abuse had risen during lockdown 2020 and anxieties had increased after the Sarah Everard death, I felt a need to support young females and women in my community. Our aim is to empower and raise awareness for women, creating a safe environment where women feel acknowledged, heard and valued. We believe that supporting and guiding young females and women in overcoming their challenges, facing their fears, building their self esteem and conquering themselves, will lead to better relationships and better decision making, allowing women to feel stronger and more in control. We do this by walking and talking in parks in Redbridge borough installing positive mindsets, building confidence and resilience in young females women, making a positive impact in their lives.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Empowering females can help to reduce domestic abuse and give women the sense of feeling valued and stronger in one self. Guiding and supporting women in believing in them selves can lead to safer and happier communities, can even create new jobs by new skills learnt. Women will be able to lead their lives with more freedom, self-esteem and self-confidence. Empowerment comes with the respect women will be able to gain in society. When women are living safe and fulfilled they can reach their full potential. Benefits of empowering females through walking and talking is not only good for their well-being but also there is health benefits through physical exercise. It is essential to the health and social development of families and communities with the ability to cope with normal stresses. We are encouraging women in having a positive mindset helping to reduce anxiety, learn new skills and build confidence, making positive impact in women lives.
Steps to get it done:
We believe every woman is unique and we will support them by providing them with the information and power they need to take the initiative and make decisions to solve problems. We are here for all young females and women, promoting social inclusion and changing perceptions in Redbridge. We celebrate diversity in our multicultural borough and are committed to supporting women to reach their potential. We see the ability to never lose hope.
