The idea
The aim of the project is to connect whole areas together with everyone in the community, to promote courses, activities and services available.
In most areas, not everyone is aware of what is available to them, for example the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Our aim is to eradicate this problem and provide a central place for residents to find out anything and everything available in their area.
We will promote events, activities, courses available across multiple community centres, faith spaces, workspaces, schools etc
we will also promote local services and business owners, as well as residents who have side jobs and/or want to share their skills with the community. These could include local electricians, plumbers, handymen, hairdressers, face-painters, personal trainers and so on.
we will be signposting new and current residents to local groups as well as providing links to different whatsapp groups and facebook groups etc.

Why it's a great idea
Community wealth, as our intention is for the local community to use the services available to them on their doorstep. Instead big companies being approached to solve problems the solution could be available in the local community. For example your neighbour could be a mechanic or electrician etc.
There is a huge problem of residents not being aware of all the great opportunities available locally, so we will provide this information in one space, doing all the hard work of researching and sourcing these opportunities.
we also aim to bring more services and activities to the area by identifying gaps in these services and under used spaces, where we can hold new ones.
the hope is bring whole communities together more and prevent divisions.
Steps to get it done
- Aim to have at least 1000 users
- Aim to connect whole of isle of dogs
- Aim to branch out to other areas
- minimum 500 followers on whatsApp, facebook, instagram
