The Future of North East Gymnastics

North East Gymnastics has lost its facility and majority of equipment due to Covid. We've secured a temporary venue & are fundraising to replace equipment & keep our club open for an initial 2 months.

Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.

The idea

North East Gymnastics unfortunately lost their facility and majority of their equipment due to Covid.
The club used to run 7 days a week, so that the club could remain open and to continue to deliver to the community, we now only run 4-5 days a week and are running at 50% capacity due to covid due to availability at the facility. We have also lost majority of our equipment, meaning we can not facilitate as many gymnasts as we once could.

Our project is to replace and buy more equipment so that we can offer gymnastics to more people in the community. In the short term if we buy more equipment, we can offer gymnastics to more children and also offer more jobs within the local community. Something our area does not have or offer to the community.

Now with a second lockdown looming, we are needing to keep our club financially stable so that we can continue to open, pay our coaches, pay our rent to the centre we hire so that we can reopen and deliver to our local community.

What we'll deliver

  • Offer Gymnastics for All
  • Create more working hours for employees
  • Add extra sessions for the community
  • Provide a venue for gymnastics for two months
  • New gymnastics equipment

Why it's a great idea

Our project will help many people in the community, in more than one way.

Our project will help increase participation, encourage and promote active and healthy lifestyles, improve mental health within participants and bring enjoyment within the community. This will also reduce the amount of children/teenagers hanging around streets and will give them something positive to focus on.
Our project will also allow us to open more jobs within the community, we will be able to train people up for the job and give people new opportunities that they would never normally get the opportunity to have. We want to offer more sessions, aimed at young children/infants and babies to help those Parents who need additional support and help them socialise back in to society.

We would like to introduce disability sessions and training for our staff.
We want to bring joy and happiness to our community and bring together community spirit.

Steps to get it done

  • Pay for coach education
