What a better way to start the day? Being in an engaging and educational environment, developing new skills, being creative and that smell of fresh artisan bread! Positive Impact for Young People CiC will use our community bakery and cooking workshops to engage young people in activities that will develop skills to support sustainability, independence, teamwork, communication skills, budgeting and much more. Our bakery and cooking workshops will be open to the local community to purchase the tasty delights that have been made that day, a taste of the working world in an exciting, educational and safe environment. The Bakery is designed to meet the needs of young people who are: Not in Education, Employment or Training or at risk, Looked after, Leaving care, have mental health issues, or just want to develop new skills. The Bakery will aim to be at the heart of the community, creating a space for people of all ages to meet. The funds raised will purchase equipment and secure a lease.

Why it's a great idea:
This project will benefit young people who are disengaged from Education, Employment and/or Training to develop a range of skills including bakery, cookery, food hygiene, increase confidence, business management, entrepreneurship, increase self esteem and encourage sustainability. In addition to this, on completion of our specifically tailored programme, young people will be given the opportunity to gain employment with us in The Bakery or one of our other social enterprises or continue to volunteer whilst supporting them gain long term sustainable employment. The Bakery is an amazing idea because it will: - Engage young people -Increase opportunities for young people -Provide beautiful and tasty products to the local community - Increase young peoples skills - Boost the local economy -Provide jobs to local people
