Improve fire safety by replacing fire doors and improving escape routes from the Building. To replace non fire safe upholstery in the building.
Fire Doors & Escape Routes: At the recent fire inspection it transpired that whilst our fire doors were previously compliant with regulations these have been superseded. The safety of our Users being paramount, we need to upgrade/replace at least five of our firedoors and some evacuation routes to comply with current regulations regarding emergency evacuation. Seating: Similarly some of our seating is no longer fire compliant and this needs to be replaced to ensure the safety of our Users.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Upgrading fire safety standards in our Building is an absolute necessity and will ensure the safety & enjoyment of the facilities by our users. This appeal will help us to keep our Community Centre open and keep room hiring rates as low as possible. It will help to promote the use of our facilities for the widest possible range of of activities and leisure pursuits including exercise class for all ages, Village Markets, Blood Donation, COVID vaccination clinics, Mother & Baby classes, U3A, Rotary and warm spaces as well as charitable events. It also helps isolated people combat loneliness. Our facility also helps to improve volunteering opportunities. Tarporley Community Centre helps to improve local democracy as Tarporley Parish Council hold meetings and consultation events . The Arts Society Tarporley, Tarporley and District Flower Club and Tarporley Amateur Dramatic Society also meet in our venue.
Steps to get it done:
Our recent fire risk assessment highligted areas of concern which need to be addressed as an urgent need so that our building meets current Fire Safety Standards and is a safe venue for users. Tarporley Community Centre is the village hub for local, social, civic and national events such as elections. We will also be the local emergency centre such this need ever arise.
