The idea

Upton JFC is dedicated to fostering community connections, personal development, and active lifestyles through football. We are currently seeking funding to support the creation of 4 new teams annually, enabling 40 children to play football; we also hope to support families facing financial challenges with discounted fees and kit, ensuring children can access football regardless of their circumstances.

Additionally, we aim to provide essential cold-weather clothing for our volunteer coaches, ensuring they can continue their vital work in comfort throughout the season. Volunteers are the life blood of the club and we provide training and opportunities which enhance the lives of our volunteers, supporting mental health and providing a strong sense of community for all those involved.

By promoting health, community spirit, and opportunities for all, Upton JFC continues to enrich the lives of players, families, and supporters in Upton and the wider Chester area.

What we'll deliver

  • Kit & equipment to enable more young people to play football
  • Young people will be involved in sport in an inclusive environment
  • Volunteers with warm jackets for winter training

Why it's a great idea

- Enhancing volunteer morale and retention by providing essential cold-weather clothing, encouraging more parents to get involved as coaches which provides more opportunities for players. Having coaches in Upton JFC attire is also a safeguarding requirement as all coaches can be easily identified by parents and children.

- Funding training courses for volunteers to gain valuable skills and experience, boosting their mental health and sense of belonging within the community.

- Promoting inclusivity by ensuring children from all financial backgrounds can access football, fostering equal opportunities for personal growth and development.

- Strengthening community ties and encouraging social cohesion through football, which serves as a unifying activity for players, families, and supporters alike.

- Developing under 6 teams each year, this is a significant financial investment for the club, but this age groups is important to the future and feeds the growth of the club.

Steps to get it done

  • Maintain fee increase at £10.00 for the year
  • Support 10 new coaches with training and kit
  • Support 40 new players with kit
