The idea
Stroud Boxing Club’s Channel Your Vision programme is designed to positively impact both participants and the community.
By providing structured boxing sessions, the programme helps reduce antisocial behavior and knife crime, offering young people an alternative path. It also creates a safe space for them to focus on mental well-being, providing a healthy outlet for stress and frustration.
The programme builds confidence and life skills, fostering resilience and discipline that benefit both education and employment prospects. With a strong focus on fitness, it also improves participants' physical health.
In addition to personal development, Channel Your Vision strengthens community ties, creating a supportive environment for young people to build relationships with peers and mentors. The programme specifically supports vulnerable and disadvantaged youth, ensuring they have the tools to thrive both inside and outside the boxing ring.

Why it's a great idea
Our project to expand Stroud Boxing Club will create a much-needed facility to serve the Stroud community, focusing on improving physical fitness, mental well-being, and personal development. The new space will benefit youth, at-risk individuals, women, and general fitness enthusiasts through tailored programs like "Channel Your Vision" and "Empower Stroud Women." These initiatives provide mentorship, promote discipline, and foster self-esteem, especially for those at risk of exclusion. Stroud currently lacks a dedicated boxing facility that caters to these needs, making this expansion essential. Research supports the benefits of regular physical activity for mental health, community bonds, and stress reduction. Our facility will provide a safe, inclusive space for the whole community, promoting overall well-being while empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
Steps to get it done
- Space Preparation and Initial Renovation
- Purchase and Installation of Equipment
- Final Renovations and Gym Set-Up
- Community Event and Gym Open Day
- Launch of Gym and First Training Sessions
- Ongoing Program Expansion
The impact of our expanded facility will be transformative for the Stroud community. By providing a dedicated space for boxing, fitness, and personal development, we will foster healthier lifestyles, build confidence, and improve mental well-being. Young people, especially those at risk, will gain access to a safe, structured environment where they can learn valuable life skills, develop discipline, and stay engaged in positive activities. Women will feel empowered through tailored programs designed to build self-confidence and physical strength. The club will also become a community hub, where individuals of all backgrounds can connect, creating stronger social bonds and reducing isolation. In the long term, this will contribute to a more resilient, healthy, and supportive community.
