The idea
Our early years outdoor areas needs a revamp. It is currently tired and in need of a serious upgrade. It no longer caters for the needs of our children, who need space to learn, play and explore outdoors, in the fresh air.
This new play area will also be used as an outdoor classroom, outdoor learning, creative play and for teaching children about nature and their environment.
Many of our children do not have outside space and have had to spend large amounts of time indoors during the Covid -19 crisis. This place will provide a safe place for them to enjoy the outdoors.
What we'll deliver
- Install bird house and forest play hut
- Create kitchen area, sand and water table
- Add picnic benches, storage and seating
- remove existing surface and replace
- create a teaching area
Why it's a great idea
The younger children will have a safe place to learn and play in the outdoors. The benefits of getting fresh air on a daily basis are well documented . This is particularly important as many of the children do not have back gardens or safe places to play outside at home.
