The idea

HeartTalks is a not-for-profit community interest company, established in 2023. Our services currently operate in the Somer Valley area, covering Bath and North Somerset. Our dedicated service space in Midsomer Norton, which opened in November 2024, offers a nurturing environment for those navigating the grief and loss of the death of a baby. At HeartTalks, we believe in creating accessible and supportive peer support spaces where individuals can find comfort and connections.

“Peer support allows individuals to share coping strategies and personal experiences, fostering a sense of connection"

We are committed to providing a welcoming & supportive space for parents and families navigating the profound grief of losing a baby. Our therapeutic peer support space serves as a refuge, where solace, understanding, and community are paramount. With your help, we aim to raise the funds needed to secure two years' rent and electric for our space, ensuring it remains a beacon of hope.

What we'll deliver

  • 2 years of peer support for parents and families: peer support sessions, pregnancy after loss groups
  • Community creative workshops: Connecting hearts, raising awareness & strengthening our support network
  • Preparation & Distribution of care packages to NHS services, the wider community and individuals in need

Why it's a great idea

Losing a baby can feel like an incredibly isolating experience. Our space provides a much-needed sanctuary for families to grieve together and find solace in knowing they are not alone. By maintaining this physical space, we offer families a place to connect, heal, and rebuild — a vital resource in their ongoing journey of grief and recovery.

The continuity and presence of this space are vital for providing consistent support to those who need it most. With two years of secured rent, we can focus on expanding our programs and reaching even more families in need. We need core cost support to ensure our premises can continue to support so many into the near future and are crucial to support the running of our service.
