The idea
We need to repair the roofing structure and walls of our garden club store situated at Shalford Village Hall. The cost is estimated to be about £12k and we only have about £5k in reserves. We would like a grant of some £10k. We have deliberately kept our subscriptions low at £5pa. so enable as many people as possible to benefit from gardening in the neighborhood, for it's health benefits. The balance of the cost will be provided by members doing whatever work they can. We will be increasing our subscriptions to £10pa. next year. We were established in 1947 and organise 3 shows each year (open to the public), talks, outings newsletters and open gardens.
