The idea
Re-develop the former Police stables/workshop in the centre of a village park to its former glory. The building will be used as a learning centre and a flexible space for the local community to use and enjoy.
The building has been neglected and unloved for many years and needs a complete rebuild. The plan is to repair, re-store and re-build the stables into a flexible area for use by the local residents to accommodate various community needs from arts and crafts, learning, fun, social and formal events and more.
What we'll deliver
- Replace the roof
- Restore and rebuild the outer building
- Create a flexible, useable space for all to use
- Keeping the original features
Why it's a great idea
As a company Sutton & District Training have been working in the London borough of Sutton, Merton and Croydon for nearly 20 years, we have worked with people from all age groups and backgrounds and understand the importance of the community spirit. This building will create an amazing focal point for the community and allow use for a range of age groups it will be for the whole community. The need for people to get together, learn, work and have fun is a very basic idea, but sometimes so hard to achieve, this is why this project is so important.
In todays world with more and more properties being taken or lost from our communities due to development or costs, we must work in partnership so that we are in a position to create an adaptive, safe space in a beautiful location in the heart of two London Boroughs.
