The idea
Currently we do not have a large room that can tailor comfortable and safely for ‘large groups’ of people. This puts a limitation on what clubs and activities can be offered at the main Centre, which we aim to make more accessible and inclusive for social event and activities. The new converted multipurpose function room area (ground floor) will not only benefit 4Sight Vision Support’s members and volunteers but will also support any other of the organisations housed within the Bradbury Centre and also possibilities of external charitable organisations whom wish to use the room for one off events. 4Sight Vision Support has strong links with many local neighbouring organisations, and through the partnership working arrangements, will encourage other organisations members and supporters to engage with the 4Sight Vision Support facilities.
What we'll deliver
- Convert the old swimming pool area into a functional working space
Why it's a great idea
The new large functional room will enable hosting large beneficiary group activity, sports for social inclusion and participation of visually impaired people creating a social and activity hive to reduce social exclusion. It will support collaborative partnership working helping to tackle co morbidity health issues in one location. It will also provide an opportunity to start new groups and opportunities to accommodate large groups of people creating opportunities for new friendships and support groups.
Steps to get it done
- Convert the pool and put a flooring down to make into a functional floor space
We have raised £18,000 towards the total project cost and look for support to raise the final £2,355. If we don't raise this by September we will have to decline the pledge of £15,000 from a funder as we only have until October to raise the full amount so that we can release the pledge.
