The idea
Create an enhanced environment by adding to existing trees and planting native trees in copses, adding a line of native hedging to obscure the awful fencing and create environment for insects, birds and mammals. Sow wildflowers into the barren grass for food for insects and colour for the public. Add grass species for overwintering insects. Add a wetlands area and wildlife pond to attract the biggest range of biodiversity and to create an environment for educational teaching, nature studies and events.
What we'll deliver

- Create mini copses of mixed native trees giving shelter and shade for public and animals
- Build a wildlife pond for greatest range of biodiversity and teaching area for local cildre, schol and families
- Create a wetland area for greatest range of insects and for educational purposes

Part of ongoing plan to roll out across the borough to involve local people and get them actively discussing, designing and then creating a better local environment. Working with the council to give local people a voice on how they want to see local outdoor spaces better utilised and managed for them and for nature. Use the improved habitats to then teach children, families and adults about local wildlife and the importance of biodiversity and nature in climate change and carbon capture
