The idea

The principal aim of the project is to provide an accessible toilet so that all our club members and visiting organisations can use. With a number of our members registered disabled, it was felt that we needed to install an accessible toilet so that all members could use the club facilities and not have any issues re the use of an accessible toilet. Pontarddulais Age Concern also use the club weekly and have several members who are disabled. We also have a number of young families who are members so this project will provide a toilet/changing facility for babies/infants.
The projected cost of the project is £23,750. We have currently secured £18,750 of funding through various other grants such as the Big Lottery Fund and Austin Bailey foundation + donations from members.

What we'll deliver

  • Provide a facility that all disabled members can utilize
  • Provide a facility that helps all young families who are members of the club
  • Provide a helpful facility for local organisations within the community of Pontarddulais

Why it's a great idea

Provide an accessible toilet facility for the members of the club. Around 100 members will benefit from having this facility (25%) of our membership. Other local organisations that use the clubs facilities, such as Pontarddulais age concern, will benefit from having improved facilities available at the club.

Steps to get it done

  • Providing a facility that is essential for both our members and the community
