Refurbishment of outdoor practice nets facility.
Ormskirk Cricket Club is a thriving community based amateur sports club that for many years has provided a pathway for young cricketers into a lifelong love of the game. It regularly competes at a national level and has helped produce a large number of current professional cricketers. The Club provides access to cricket for children aged 5 and upwards. It runs 8 junior teams and 4 adult teams one of which is the recently established Women's team and we are keen to establish a Girls' team within the next 2 years. Having a viable outdoor net facility is a vital asset for any cricket club and the Club's nets are tired and desperately in need of attention to allow for the continued provision of training in a safe environment.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Having access to a safe outdoor net facility is a vital facility for any amateur cricket club. It allows for players of all ages to improve their game and enhance their enjoyment of the sport. We hope that not only will a refurbished facility benefit existing junior and adult players but encourage others to join a club that offers not only access to cricket but also to a welcoming, family friendly social environment. In addition our net facility is used by Ormskirk School whose players would also share the benefit refurbished nets would provide.
