The idea
North Lincs Active Futures CIC is creating an inclusive fitness and wellbeing hub in Winterton, transforming a 2,017 sq ft facility into a space where everyone, regardless of age or ability, can move, connect, and thrive. The project will refurbish the site, install accessible flooring and equipment, and launch specialist programmes for older adults, disabled people, and those with long-term health conditions. Our aim is to reduce loneliness, improve mental and physical wellbeing, and build stronger community connections. Working with partners such as LiveWell North Lincs, Incredible Winterton, and Harder To Kill Community Fitness, we’ll deliver affordable, adaptive exercise and wellbeing sessions that help residents feel supported, valued, and part of something positive

Why it's a great idea
Our project will improve the health, confidence, and wellbeing of people across North Lincolnshire. Older adults will stay active, mobile, and independent through specialist classes that reduce the risk of falls and boost confidence. Disabled residents and those with long-term health conditions will benefit from adaptive exercise that supports mobility, strength, and mental health. We’ll reduce loneliness by creating a welcoming space where people can connect, socialise, and belong. Through partnerships with local health services, we’ll support NHS referral pathways and deliver accessible wellbeing programmes that improve quality of life, prevent illness, and build community pride. Volunteers will gain new skills, confidence, and purpose, helping to create a lasting culture of inclusion and support
