The idea
Greenbank FC would like to turn a currently unused, old porta-cabin, which was used as a classroom in the past to our new clubhouse. Greenbank FC have been based at North Kesteven Sports Centre since 2008 and this would give us a space the club can call our own for the first time in its 40 year history.
The project would mean installing a new roof, new tin cladding around the exterior, decoration of the interior, replacement of some panels inside, new seating / tables and installing new refreshment facilities too.
The project would enable a currently unused space to be used by the club and its 300+ members, along with their parents / carers when at games and events.
It would also allow us to use our own facility when hosting events, running training courses (first aid, child welfare, referees) and having committee meetings.
Without doubt this would be a great asset to the club for years to come, with wider benefits for visiting clubs, alongside our members and volunteers.
What we'll deliver
- Renovate the exterior / roof of the porta-cabin to make watertight
- Renovate and decorate the interior of the porta-cabin
- Install new seating, tables and refreshment facilities inside for users
Why it's a great idea
This project is a great idea for a number of reasons which will improve our players, volunteers and spectators experience, whilst developing financial opportunities and sustainability of the club:
- Bring a currently unused building back to life
- A base for the club to use on site
- Facilities to sell and provide refreshments on match days
- Facilities for meetings and training courses for our volunteers
- Used for registration and results at festivals Greenbank host
- Space for brothers / sisters /parents to sit indoors if poor weather
