The idea
Neston Players has been performing in Neston since it was formed in 1952. We would like to widen our scope for performing in CH64 and Cheshire but we are limited as we do not have the proper technical equipment that would allow us to do this. Even performing in some local venues, we very often have to ‘hire’ in the appropriate equipment, at great cost.
• An adaptive system will enhance our productions and audio for our audiences.
• It will widen our scope for performing and fund-raising in different venues to reach different audiences. We would be able to perform at local out-door events.
• This equipment would be made available for hire to all CH64 arts and community groups for use, at no cost to themselves.
• It will save us money in future productions, which means we have more disposable income to invest in future productions and community projects. All of our profit is invested back into the players therefore continuing to improve quality of productions.
What we'll deliver
- We will keep our ticket prices low and affordable within our community
- We can put on more variety of shows at different venues in our area, even performing outdoors
- We will hire out the equipment to other local CH64 arts and community groups at no cost to themselves
- Our audience will benefit from better audio watching productions
Why it's a great idea
This investment will be spent on local people. It will make significant positive change and help transform the arts, community projects and fundraising in the Neston area and beyond. We want to deliver the very best theatre in our rural community and give opportunities to children and adults alike to watch a better quality of theatre and get involved in the arts. Not spending money of expensive 'hire' of equipment means we can keep our ticket prices low and be more accessible. It opens up opportunities for performing in other venues, even out-reaching further into Cheshire.
Other local Arts and Community groups will have the chance to hire the equipment at no charge to themselves.
Steps to get it done
- Our first play with music will be performed May 2024 with rehearsals starting Jan 2024.
- We can promote the availability of the equipment to other community groups for planning their events in 2024
