An exciting opportunity to create and fund inspirational projects in your local community
Let’s Farm CIC is an exciting new service for people with learning disabilities and difficulties across CWAC, Cheshire East and the Wirral. The key focus of the service is to give an excellent quality of life and offer the experience to work on a working farm. Taking part in all farming life and daily stock duties. Also, to enhance the offer we are running a conservation, environmental, and enrichment programme. All the activities help the young people to make new friendships, learn, Rangers are working on their employability skills which is woven through everything we do on the farm and developing new skills, an unbelievable experience while working as a team to expand knowledge in a safe controlled but exciting environment. Most importantly Let’s Farm is about having fun and supporting their mental wellbeing. The young people our called Farm Rangers and they join us to help run the farm. Let's Farm is constantly diversifying to meeting the need of the Rangers who attend the farm.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
There are so many benefits to the project for the rangers who all have a learning disabilities or difficulties. Confidence building, a purpose, self-esteem, new skills, learning about the environment, work skills, life skills, friendships, relationships, to feel valued, quality of life, good mental well-being to mention just a few. The offer will also in turn benefit the local community if we open up to the public to see the produce to make as a new enterprise to generate an income to buy new tools and equipment for the new allotment gardening project. We will be looking at piloting and using our natural ingredient of sheep fleeces to make and line hanging baskets. This is a natural source of nitrogen to feed the plants.
