The KCG Committee are committed to creating a vibrant & sustainable environment that benefits both wildlife & our community. We are thrilled to introduce our latest addition, a Community & Wildlife Haven Project, designed to transform a piece of land into a thriving ecosystem & a welcoming space for all visitors. For our wildlife we will: - create a stunning wildlife pond. This picturesque addition will serve as a lifeline for various wetland creatures, including frogs & dragonflies. In an era of extreme weather conditions, providing a clean, safe water source is paramount to supporting the wildlife that relies on it. - install bird boxes which will provide shelter & breeding spaces, helping these beautiful birds not just survive, but thrive in our village. - clear scrub areas of rubbish & non-beneficial plants. For our residents we will: - make the site more welcoming, relaxing & informative, so more of our community engage with and share in our village's wonderful asset.

What we'll deliver:

  • Wildlife Pond
  • Bird Boxes
  • Scrub Clearance
  • Gazebo
  • Seating
  • Notice Board

Why it's a great idea:

The pond and bird boxes will go some way to safeguard two of nature's most threatened areas: wetland wildlife and birds. We recognise our responsibility to help support and protect both. To ensure our gardens are a place of relaxation and reflection for all, we will set up seating areas. Whether you're a resident or a visitor, we want you to feel welcome here. A notice board will stand proudly on our site, offering valuable information to residents and engaging, educational posters for our young visitors. This will help us communicate the incredible value & importance of our gardens. Our gazebo will be a versatile addition, serving as a shelter for events in all weather conditions. We look forward to hosting gatherings, educational sessions, and community celebrations under its protective canopy. We are dedicated to maintain a clean, safe environment. Through litter and scrub clearance, we will ensure that our site remains safe and accessible to both wild and human visitors.

Steps to get it done:

  • Pond completed
  • Bird boxes installed
  • Site cleared
  • Install seats
  • Procure gazebo
  • Install notice board
