The idea
Our communities aspire to breathe clean indoor air, yet many face challenges due to Indoor Air Pollution (IAP), which can lead to various health issues including asthma, headaches, fatigue, mental illness, cancer, and even death.
IAP originate from multiple sources such as cooking, smoking, pets, mould, dust, cleaning products, furniture, body sprays, and other pollutants found in homes. For more details on the health risks associated with IAP, please refer to the attached video.
We are developing products and services to provide information and consultations on indoor air quality. Our project encompasses four phases, with initial phases self-funded. We are currently seeking funding for the Design phase, crucial for producing and testing our services.
Funding will cover the following:
>Website Landing Page design
>Flyers Design and Printing
>Marketing Campaign
>Administrative costs
>Staff labour cost
What we'll deliver
- Information and Training Courses to increase awareness
- Consultations to mitigate the risk of Indoor Air Pollution
Why it's a great idea
The following groups are more vulnerable to indoor air pollution:
>Children: due to smaller airways, faster breathing rates, and developing immune systems.
>Pregnant women: due to increased oxygen demand and hormonal changes, which can affect the health of both the mother and the fetus.
>Older people: due to reduced lung function, chronic diseases, weakened immune systems, and spending more time indoors.
>People with pre-existing conditions, including mental illness: due to exacerbating factors.
>People from low socioeconomic status: due to living in poor conditions.
We believe our products and services on IAP will produce the following key outcomes:
✓Increased awareness
✓Reduced exposure to pollutants
✓Improved physical and mental health
✓Increased cognitive performance and creativity
✓Reduced medical consultations and hospital admissions.
Steps to get it done
- Milestone 1: Create and test the prototype of our landing page, flyers, and customer engagement plan
- Milestone 2: Implement and launch our final product and service to our customers
- Milestone 3: Measure and evaluate the impact and performance of our services
Supporting this appeal means providing crucial information, personal support, and consultations to raise awareness and empower individuals to address indoor air pollution risks effectively!
Indoor air pollution, prevalent globally and in the UK, stems from various factors such as household cleaning products, cooking fumes, and inadequate ventilation. This pollution significantly impacts human health, potentially leading to respiratory and cardiovascular issues, mental illness, cancer, and premature death, as evidenced by studies.
Our team comprises experienced and qualified researchers, an Environment and Human Health specialist, mental health professionals, and Life Coaches, ensuring the effectiveness of the services mentioned above.
