The idea

This project develops a comprehensive series of educational programmes tailored for organisations, families, and individuals in Gloucestershire. Supporting and fostering safer communities for LGBTQIA+ people.

The initiative will address existing gaps in training and equip professionals and/or family members with the knowledge and tools to understand and support individuals and organisations navigating personal/professional challenges related to being LGBTQIA+. This will include providing a series of inclusive support for families, individuals, adults and young people. By enhancing awareness, the series of diverse programmes aims to address misconceptions, build confidence in safer, more accepting environments, workplaces, and spaces for support, and ensure LGBTQIA+ individuals feel valued and understood. This is especially needed during this time of separation and an increase in discrimination towards the LGBTQIA+ community.

• Encouraging organisations to adopt proactive diversity and inclusion strategies, thereby improving workplace morale and retention rates.

• Providing a replicable model of sharing skills and tools for other regions seeking to enhance LGBTQIA+ awareness and support initiatives.

• Enhancing the overall mental health and well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals through improved community engagement and inclusive services.
