The idea

The clubhouse requires various improvements to enable us to continue offering the community hub for adult and colts cricket - freezer, new blinds, coat of paint, repair of scoreboard and scorers hut, refurbishment of the artificial pitch, colts training equipment (balls, stumps), potentially the purchase of new grounds equipment and, if we are really successful - new practice nets.

A vibrant, friendly, community club situated on a Council owned facility in the heart of Southampton's Waterside area, providing both league and friendly cricket for adults and children. Our First XI have just completed their first season back in the Southern Premier Cricket League and we run 3 further Senior Saturday League sides as well as a Sunday & Midweek XI. We run an occasional Sunday 2nd XI in a local tournament which develops colts into adult cricket and this season we came out on top. But it’s the Junior Colts Section that is the backbone of the club, our coaches work hard to develop our young talent through into the senior sides, more than 50% of our current first team came up through our colts section. In 2019 we ran 4 Colts Sides @ Under 9,11,13 and 16s level. For the last two years we have run a very successful All Stars programme, a great way to get younger children into cricket and, once play can resume, we will be participating in the new Dynamos sessions. W10 - a Ladies Softball Cricket team, both indoor and outdoor, plays in local W10 festivals and have celebrated good success, we've also hosted W10 festivals at the ground. We welcome new members for all sections of the club and, if you don't play, we welcome you to come down, relax in the sun and enjoy a drink with us! Community events at the ground include annual fireworks and the Hythe & Dibden Fete which is a major fund raiser. Football teams play at the ground in the off season and we have a thriving darts section playing in the local league. During the year we run karaoke nights, quizzes, race nights and other fund raising events.
