Over 120 projects funded by 3,800 backers. £1.3M + raised and counting!
Horsham Garden Music Festival was formed back in 2011 and is in its ninth year. 2020 was going to be a larger year with three weekends of Live Music Planned across the Horsham District. But COVID struck and cause the postponement of the event. The event normally features artists and creatives from the Horsham area, with acts ranging in age and professionally accross the local arts scene. With the impact on Horsham Arts and Culutre, we would like to bring to Horsham at least four shows over the winter utilising local venues who are also now struggling to find shows to run with the limited capacity available to them with social distancing. Venues like the Capitol Horsham, which is now reopened but is struggling to find shows that would visit the Capitol as the present capacity is only 120 in their main house. *We will continue to be guided by safety considerations. In the event of needing to reschedule the festival, we will communicate this via our Spacehive page.*
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The Project will enable the local artists to perform on a professional stage which is normally outside of their scope and budget in normal times. The shows will encourage audiences back into the Capitol and therefore restarting the local nightlife economy in the area. The Show will also promote that live music is back again and help show a way that events can restart in a COVID Secure way.
Steps to get it done:
Based on the plans we have seen from UK Theatres and the DCMS we do not see a national closure on the cards as long as venues stick to their COVID secure plans and are constantly reviewing them. Again we are continuously watching and reviewing the guidelines to observe the theatre/performance guidelines to ensure that all of the casts are safe to perform and can do so without breaking any conditions.
