Why it's a great idea

Here Be Dragons brings accessible, high-quality cultural experiences to North East communities, benefiting families and children. By performing in underserved areas, we make theatre more accessible to those who may not typically have the opportunity to attend. A special performance for Deaf Awareness Week at Benton Park Primary School ensures deaf children can enjoy inclusive arts, promoting greater awareness and accessibility.

Families will enjoy a fun, engaging show that sparks creativity and introduces children to theatre. Additionally, the project showcases North East talent, encouraging pride in local culture and strengthening the region's artistic identity.

Here Be Dragons will help connect communities, support inclusivity, promote regional talent, and enrich the cultural life of the North East, benefiting local families, children and artists.
