Knowing the positive effects that being in nature may have on one's mental health and general well-being, ICOS built and maintained a relationship with the community around the public park. In past years we have successfully restored safe, attractive and accessible spaces for kids and families. We learned through the process that giving people a chance to spend more time outdoors not only addresses the need for physical activities but, helps to overcome social barriers. We believe there is always room for development opportunities for sports and recreation in the local green area.
At this moment, at the park, there is a playground intended for toddlers and preschool children. We would like to create recreational space for older kids to include them in outdoor play and activities. For this purpose, with your support, we want to buy The Primary School All Stars Package includes three of the most popular pieces of children's fitness equipment.
What we'll deliver:
- Children's Double Health Walker
- Children's Double Slalom Skier
- Children's Sky Stepper
Why it's a great idea:
Outdoor gym exercise helps kids develop balance, coordination and social interaction skills. It is a great way to get kids outdoors and active. Open-air activities have plenty of benefits, such as increasing energy levels, improving mental well-being and acquiring healthy habits among young people.
According to Forbes, these days, kids spend an average of 7h a day in front of electronics. That's why it is important to rekindle the love of sports from a young age. Getting more exercise will help build self-esteem, lower the chances of depression and help prevent obesity.
Kids who are active throughout childhood are usually more likely to engage in regular exercise later in life. Everyday physical activities lower stress, improve the immune system and concentration and are great for a better mood.
Steps to get it done:
- Buying the sport equipment
- Installing the equipment at the playground
