The idea
We want to organise three events in Blyth: a music gig; a comedy night, and a local buskers evening. We want to use these events to raise the profile of learning disability and arts and inclusion and we need support to help us do this. We need to raise money for the costs of setting up these events.
These events that will show people what we can do, they will let people know we have ambitions just like everyone else: We want to take our work further, share our ideas and experiences and be great. We don't want applause just because we are disabled - we want applause because we are doing great work!
We will deliver 3 events in Blyth between January and April 2024 , using the funding we raise to learn how to organise events that can in turn raise money for our future work, allowing us to share our work far and wide.
What we'll deliver
- 3 community events
Why it's a great idea
The project will benefit:
• The local community: offering events that will bring people together, particularly those who do not have access to these types of events due to economic, cultural and/or geographic exclusion.
• Individuals: realising the ambitions of learning disabled people; developing their skills and promoting confidence and self-awareness
• The Stars Inclusive Theatre Company: giving the Company more opportunity to share and show their work
