The idea

Bootle Action Group have funded 2 trees at the Sefton boundary on Brewster Street. Our aim is to tree line this stretch of road up to Bedford Road, but we need funding to do this. The trees will enhance the street scene, and provide a welcoming look on entering Sefton/Bootle.
More importantly the trees will help alleviate vehicle pollution on this busy stretch of road, therefore having added health benefits to the local community.
Each tree base will be maintained by Bootle Action Group volunteers with regular de-weeding. We will also plant Spring flowering bulbs around the base of the trees.
The trees will be of massive benefit to the Bootle and wider Sefton community.

What we'll deliver

  • Plant 5 birch trees
  • Plant Spring bulbs

Why it's a great idea

Change negative perceptions of the area. Bootle compared to other parts of Sefton has a distinct lack of trees.
Enhance the street scene and will look aesthetically pleasing.
Trees are great absorbers of pollution and water. These benefits cannot be underestimated. The trees will be sited on a road with constant vehicular traffic.
The trees will encourage wildlife such as nesting birds.

Steps to get it done

  • To have trees planted in the next season
