The idea
We are currently working on a health and well-being project aimed at promoting mental and physical wellness in the local community. The project involves setting up a number of Physical activity classes and activities to improve socialising for local residents, as well as providing access to healthy snacks and resources for stress management. The project will involve a consultation with the local community, development of an appropriate series of activities based on the local consultation and a plan for sustainability of the project. The goal is to improve overall quality of life for local residents whilst helping to reduce the pressure on the local NHS services. We believe this project has great potential for positive impact and outcomes and would be a valuable investment opportunity for interested parties.
What we'll deliver
- Plan and run 2 x Consultation sessions with the local community
- Develop a website with information regarding health and wellbeing services that will be offered
- Develop and deliver 4x 6 week healthy lifestyle programmes based on the evidence gathered
- Undertake evaluation of the programme and produce a report with sustainability plans for the programmes
- 4 x Autism health awareness sessions
Why it's a great idea
Physical and mental health and wellbeing programs are designed to promote a holistic approach to wellness.
Regular physical activity is essential for maintaining good health. A structured health and wellbeing program can promote increased physical fitness, reduced risk of chronic diseases, and improved overall well-being. Physical activity also contributes to better sleep, increased energy levels, and a strengthened immune system. Additionally, participation in group fitness activities fosters a sense of community and support among participants.
In addition to physical fitness, mental health is a critical component of overall wellbeing. Mental health and wellbeing programs often incorporate meditation, mindfulness practices, and counseling services to help individuals manage their wellbeing.
If done correctly we hope to improve the quality of life of the residents who take part and provide them skills that will help them manage their wellbeing without needing local health services
Steps to get it done
- deliver a community consultation exercise
- Develop a website for informing people about the benefits of health and wellbeing
- Develop a Healthy Lifetyles 6 week programme including various health and wellbeing activities
- Develop an evaluation programme report with sustainability plans
Part of the project will be to provide a critical focus on patients with Autism whom we feel don't access health services due to barriers.
