In our 11th year of operation, we have been building strong connections throughout Shropshire, Worcestershire and the surrounding counties since our formation in 2013. Our aim and purpose to work with individuals who feel on the margins of society, either because of their mental health needs, physical/learning challenges or special education needs. We also work with people not in education. In addition we hope to be working with Veterans on a more consistent basis very soon and we have signed The Armed Forces Covenant.
We have successfully helped in excess of 450 people aged 11 to 70+ since we opened. Our aim is to listen to the individual needs of each person, their family members, health care staff and school representatives to build a personal, holistic service that is tailormade to them. Our ultimate aim being that through teaching specific skills this will build confidence and self-esteem, enhance social interaction skills, and in some instances lead to volunteering or employment.
We offer an extensive range of activities including gardening and horticulture, woodland skills in our private woodland, music, blacksmith/forge work, welding, wood workshops (large and small, traditional and modern), arts and crafts workshops, jewellery making, painting, welding and bricklaying.
We add further areas and improve our facilities whenever funds permit, and are looking to develop an adjacent field into an area accesible to our wider community. This will be in the form of relaxation areas in an orchard as well as wildlife developments and allotment spaces.
