Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.

Creating community events since 2010 powered solely by volunteers; with over 6000 attendees at its peak. The events are magical, interactive and engaging - parade of stalls, workshops, music and performers. The trees sway with handmade bunting, the 15ft Ganesh smiles down and the best of Manchester's independent music scene entertains a mass of people.

Everyone there is trying to get a step closer to creating the city that we all want to be part of. We have had to take a year out due to lack of funds. This could be our last event but we are confident with your help we can continue.

A lack of available money for community needs has driven many organisations to close, meaning the others needed to change. The 2016 Envirolution will see the creation of an event area that will take us from community fair to all-round super extravaganza. We will buy our own marquee and bike-power sound system to allow us, and other community groups, to generate our own future revenue.

What we'll deliver:

  • Create the best community event in the city
  • Promote the city's best community organisations
  • Create a source of revenue to allow us to hopefully continue Envirolution into the future
  • inspire people to take control of their own communities

Why it's a great idea:

We estimate that since 2010 we have interacted with over 40,000 people and have had the support of over 5,000 volunteer hours. If these numbers are multiplied to all the organisations that attend the event it highlights how important the topics of climate change, community happiness, healthy food, safe transport and all the others covered at the event are.

The event is hosted in the heart of some the city's poorest communities, allowing them a voice. People should tell their stories and create their visions in their own way, not dictated by people who do not understand their communities.

Finally, how many occasions do we have to come together with people and truly view our lives in a positive way. To be surrounded by enthusiastic people who have dedicated their lives to bettering the world they find themselves in and to allow yourself to envision a future that is happier for you and your children's children.

Steps to get it done:

  • Buy a new event marquee
  • Continue to build on the networks we have grown over 6 years
  • Create space for the best projects in Manchester to showcase their work
  • Tell everyone about the event

We have received huge support since we announced the date for the event, Saturday 4th June 2016. There are so many potential attendees, stall holders, performers and workshop trainers to choose from. The event could be run for a week with enough resources.

There will be a planning group that will work to ensure all the participants are of the highest standard and community impact. New to this year, we will be working with partners that will run whole areas to allow for an even higher standard than previous events.

The team at Envirolution prides itself on creating enchanting areas and a welcoming atmosphere, we will continue to keep this a priority. Ultimately, this is a truly community event and it will be a combination of small contributions from many people to make it into the biggest and best environmental festival Manchester has ever seen.
