The idea
Wheels for All aims to make cycling accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability. At our Ellesmere Port hub, we provide sessions with adapted cycles, allowing participants to enjoy the many benefits of cycling. However, some individuals, such as wheelchair users, are unable to join due to a lack of suitable equipment. To address this, we’re raising funds for a Velo Plus wheelchair-accessible cycle, a specially designed bike that enables individuals to remain in their wheelchairs while cycling. This initiative will allow us to create a truly inclusive experience, ensuring everyone can improve their fitness, enhance wellbeing, and connect with others in a welcoming environment.
What we'll deliver
- Purchase and install 1 Velo Plus wheelchair-accessible cycle
- Provide 10 fully staffed inclusive cycling sessions at Ellesmere Port hub
- Deliver hands-on training for staff and volunteers on the Velo Plus cycle
