Help us keep our festival free!

Jazz festival across multiple stages in venues across the neighbourhood. Deepening a sense of place and building a community around live music, with creative collaborations at the heart of it all.

This project has reached its fundraising target. It has also activated Continuous Fundraising, which means you can still donate and support the project.

The idea

Every contribution will help us keep all or at least a big part of the festival free to attend. We’ll make up the remainder through institutional grants, sponsorship and/or highly subsidised tickets for the festival.

On the 12th of July 2025, De Beauvoir Jazz Festival will bring grassroots, homegrown and international jazz to our vibrant neighbourhood in Hackney, London.

Multiple venues will host simultaneous performances - day long stages in public spaces to evening gigs in bars, restaurants, local pubs and community venues.

The festival celebrates local culture, food, drink whilst supporting independent businesses and community groups. A youth outreach programme is a salient part of the mix.

The money raised from this campaign will be used for planning and producing the festival. We're a Community Interest Company (CIC), and our core team is working on this festival pro-bono.

What we'll deliver

  • A stellar lineup featuring some of the most noted figures in jazz - homegrown and international
  • Day long gigs across multiple venues
  • A youth outreach programme focused on music and community

Why it's a great idea

1. Catalyse community connections
2. Introduce new audiences to jazz and make it accessible
3. Economic stimulus for local businesses
4. Emerge as a platform for creative collaborations
5. Enhance De Beauvoir Town's cultural profile + harness the potential of our local neighbourhood spaces
5. Create opportunities for volunteer involvement and employment over time
6. Promote arts education and cultural diversity
7. Foster a strong sense of place and belonging

We are committed to making this festival inclusive, safe, and accessible. We want to bring new audiences to jazz and elevate the marginalised voices in jazz, creating a platform that benefits everyone. We have garnered interest from local businesses and community groups and everyone’s been incredibly supportive.
